1998 was the year that a hobby developed into a business. Michelle moved from creating piggy banks for family and friends to making them for others. News of her creations moved through “the grapevine” of her home town and GrapeVine Ceramics and Gifts was born. Michelle soon discovered, her husband, Art has a talent for clay work. He joined in her production process and the two have worked together to build the business over the last 25 years. Their products have been sold at craft shows, consignment stores, Etsy and now a website.
GrapeVine Ceramics and Gifts is located in Hays, KS and sources as many of the materials as possible for their production from companies in the United States. They also use vintage molds which helps to cut down on waste making its way to the area landfills.
Art and Michelle’s goal is to continue making quality items for customers to enjoy and even pass down to their families. From nativities to wind chimes and everything in between, the memories and traditions built around these items will last the test of time.
